This document name=”anc0″> defines your current errdisabled state, describes how to restore it, and provides examples of restoring errdisabled. In this document, error assertions errdisable and disable are used interchangeably. Customers often contact Cisco Technical Support as soon as they notice that one or their switch ports have been disabled due to errors, which means that these ports have the status of all errdisabled. These clients want to know for themselves why the shutdown error occurred and where to restore normal ports.
Note. The port status err-disabled is shown in the output of each of our show Interfaces Interface_Number.
To create the examples in this document, you will need two Cisco Catalyst 4500/6500 series switches (or equivalent) in a shared configuration lab environment. The switches must be running Cisco IOS® software and each button must have two Fast Ethernet ports supporting EtherChannel and PortFast.
The information in this document is intended to be received by devices in a specific lab environment. All of my devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your good network is up and running, make sure you understand the possible outcome of each command.

The implementation of errdisable depends on the source of the software. This document focuses on errdisable for switches running Cisco IOS software.
The Function Most Commonly Associated With Errdisable
If the configuration says that the input should be activated, but the softwareThe mm switch detects an error on the port, the program disables this port. In other correspondence, the port is automatically disabled by the switch’s operating system software because the port has undoubtedly detected an error condition.
If the transmission is healthy, it stops gracefully, and neither send nor receive occurs in that section. By the way, the port LED is amber, and if you issue the show Interfaces command, the port status is currently displayed as err-disabled. Here is a general example of what an actual disabled port looks like from the switch command line interface (CLI) by default:

Or, if the UI appears to be disabled due to an error, you may see messages in the console and syslog that have always looked like this:

This sample message is displayed when only one host port receives a bridge process data unit (BPDU). The actual belief depends on the cause of the error condition.
It lets the administrator know when and where port problems occur.
This eliminates the possibility that running on this port could cause other module (or large module) sockets to fail.
This error occurs when a bad port overloads buffers or port error messages overload communication between processes on the board, which, according to experts, can eventually lead to serious network problems. The error disable feature helps to minimize such situations.
Reason For Errdisable
This feature was first implemented in transactions to fully handle certain conflicts until the switch detects excessive or even late conflicts on a port. Excessive collisions occur when an image is removed because meetings from three years ago change the colli ei in a row. Out-of-spec cable (too long, deformed, or defective)
